Here are some ways that the Foundation for Homeless Veterans can help address homelessness among veterans in San Diego County:

Affordable Housing: The Foundation for Homeless Veterans facilitates affordable housing programs that provide veterans with access to safe, stable, and affordable housing. These programs may include rental subsidies, shared housing arrangements, and emergency shelters, especially through the HUD/VASH program.

Employment Assistance: The Foundation for Homeless Veterans offers employment assistance programs that help veterans find work and secure a stable income. These programs may include job training, resume writing workshops, and job placement services.

Mental Health Support: The Foundation for Homeless Veterans provides mental health support to veterans struggling with mental health issues, such as PTSD, depression, and substance abuse. This may include counseling, therapy, and support groups.

Outreach and Education: The Foundation for Homeless Veterans offers outreach and education programs that raise awareness about the issue of homelessness among veterans and provide information about available resources and support.

Advocacy: The Foundation for Homeless Veterans advocates on behalf of homeless veterans, working with government agencies, community organizations, and private businesses to address the root causes of homelessness and provide support to those in need.

About Us

The Background

Foundation for Homeless Veterans is a grass roots not-for-profit  dedicated to advocating for housing for the 40,000 homeless veterans in the United States. Our core mission is to ensure that no homeless Veteran is left without the resources necessary to get off the streets and into a home. No veteran should be left behind.

The Foundation for Homeless Veterans was founded by Patrick Kelley, a US Army and 100% disabled veteran. Patrick has battled homelessness in his life and pulled himself up by the bootstraps with the help of various community-based organizations. This has inspired him to establish the Foundation to help other homeless and at-risk veterans.
